#138714 Mammography Tech - Breast Imaging La Jolla 9500 Gilman Drive, San Diego, CA 92037, United States Extended Deadline: Fri 5/1/2026 Responsibilities The Mammography Tech primarily performs screening and diagnostic breast imaging procedures, and may assist in interventional breast procedures. They are responsible for operational effectiveness in the Breast Imaging area, focusing on patient flow, customer service, equipment oversight, and adherence to Quality Control guidelines. They collaborate with radiologists and clinicians to implement new procedures and processes that ensure seamless operations. They maintain ongoing education specific to breast imaging, contribute to and participate in work organization, training, and evaluation of staff as members of self-directed work teams, and demonstrate knowledge of radiation safety principles. They demonstrate skills and knowledge through competency exams covering all breast imaging procedures and adhere to radiology imaging protocols and policies. They must work flexible hours, which may include evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, on-call, and some overtime for unexpected staffing issues. They must have computer skills and familiarity with new technology such as Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), Digital Mammography, Radiology Information System (RIS), and Hospital Information System (HIS). Minimum Qualifications Complete certification training program for Radiologic and Mammographic Technologist. California Radiology Technologist of Mammography (CRT-M). BART or BLS at time of hire, with commitment to obtain BART within six (6) months of first hire date. Demonstrated PACS, Digital Mammography, and computer knowledge. Preferred Qualifications At least one (1) year of experience as a Mammography Technologist. Registered Technologist for Mammography issued by ARRT (R.T(M)(ARRT)). Special Conditions Must work flexible hours, including day, evenings, weekends, and may be on-call or at different locations based on the 24‑hour Medical Center's business needs. Employment subject to a criminal background check and pre‑employment physical. If employed by the University of California, must comply with the Policy on Vaccination Programs; additional public health directives may apply. Applicable life‑support certifications (BLS, NRP, ACLS, etc.) must include hands‑on practice and in‑person skills assessment; online‑only certification is not acceptable. Pay Range Annual Full Pay Range: $114,234–$142,047 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $54.71–$68.03 Factors determining compensation include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced is the budgeted salary or hourly range expected for this position.
