PATIENT ACCESS SCHEDULING AND COMM COORD

Overview The Patient Access Scheduling & Communications Coordinator (PASCC) supports core operations of the centralized Patient Access call center by executing routine scheduling, registration, and communication tasks. This role serves as a primary contact for patients and care teams, verifying demographic and insurance information, transcribing clinical messages, and coordinating outpatient appointments. It follows established procedures, escalates complex issues, and maintains accurate documentation in electronic systems. The position requires attention to detail, effective communication, and adherence to departmental productivity and accuracy standards. Responsibilities Execute routine scheduling, registration, and communication tasks within the centralized Patient Access call center. Serve as a primary contact for patients and care teams; verify demographic and insurance information. Transcribe clinical messages and coordinate outpatient appointments. Follow established protocols and escalate complex issues as needed. Maintain accurate documentation in electronic systems. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Minimum of one year of customer service experience. Skills and Competencies Ability to interact courteously and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and healthcare team members. Ability to set up, organize, and maintain record systems. Strong customer service, multi-tasking, and computer skills; experience with office automation equipment and software. Attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and remain patient and composed in stressful situations. Accurate data entry and strong keyboarding (typing) skills.
