Job Summary

The Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in delivering personalized nursing care by employing the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This position involves facilitating healthcare services for patients in outpatient environments, working collaboratively with the healthcare team. Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinating patient care
• Conducting patient assessments
• Providing patient education
• Implementing various nursing interventions

The RN will work alongside inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, execute, and assess outpatient care. This role requires demonstrating proficiency and practicing within the full scope of nursing knowledge, adhering to age and population-specific standards relevant to the assigned clinical environment. The RN must operate within the guidelines set forth by the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules of the state of practice and licensure. Our professional nursing practice framework acknowledges the Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements as established by the American Nurses Association, serving as the foundation for nursing care delivery and professional behavior.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program is preferred, including institutions recognized by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and the National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).
• A Bachelor's Degree in nursing is preferred.
• Must possess an unencumbered RN license from the State Board of Nursing in the state where practice occurs, or hold multistate licensure if practicing in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
• Must obtain and maintain any required department-specific licenses, competencies, and certifications.
