Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a Level 2 trauma facility in Georgia, requiring at least 2 years of OR experience and active GA or compact RN license.

Job Details

• Operating Room setting at a Level 2 trauma facility handling a broad range of surgical specialties including general surgery, orthopedic trauma, ENT, gynecology (including Gyn oncology), eye surgery, and vascular cases,
• Facility utilizes Da Vinci robotic systems and a hybrid room for vascular procedures,
• No open-heart surgery or organ transplant cases,
• Patient population ranges from infants to geriatrics,
• 10 OR rooms with an average daily census of 32 patients,
• EMR system: Epic; also uses Pyxis and SBAR,
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (11:00-23:00),
• Every third weekend required,
• Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed,
• On-call required approximately 7 days/month, including one weekend per month on rotation; call also required on holidays on a rotating basis,
• Call typically begins when your shift ends; weekend call is 24-hour call,
• Three levels of call are used to indicate the probability of being called in,

Job Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required,
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required,
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required,
• Experience with a broad range of OR procedures preferred; candidates are not expected to have experience with all procedures listed,
• Copies of required certifications must be provided for consideration,

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,
• Local candidates are accepted,
• Scrubs are provided by the facility,
• RTO maximum of 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment,
• If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work those holidays and no holiday RTO can be requested; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two of them and one holiday RTO request may be reviewed for approval,
• Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counted as 1), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counted as 1), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counted as 1),
• No special scheduling requests, alternate shifts, or schedule changes are permitted,
• Travelers must be away from all facilities within this health system for a full year before returning as a traveler,
• No scheduling conflicts between travel pairs assigned to the same unit and shift are permitted
