Factory Technician - Weekend Day Shift

Factory Technician, Weekend Shift Location: Detroit, MI Shift hours: Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Responsibilities: Operate industrial saws, bandsaws, CNC equipment, and material handling systems. Load, measure, cut, and inspect aluminum plate, bar, and rounds to spec. Run forklifts and overhead cranes. Follow cut lists and production schedules with precision. Take a clean handoff from the weekday team and leave the floor ready for Monday. Receive inbound material and verify against purchase orders. Package, label, and stage outbound shipments. Record cut data and job completions in our software systems accurately. Always ask questions, never guess when something is unclear. Look at every process and figure out how to make it better. Keep the floor clean, organized, and ready for the next job. Work safely every shift and hold teammates to the same standard. Qualifications: Knowledgeable or experienced in a factory, metals service center, bandsaws, industrial saws, CNC equipment, or skilled trades. Committed to safety, follows protocols, wears PPE, and never cuts corners. High attention to quality. Always improving processes, not accepting status quo. Customer‑obsessed; respects delivery timelines. Team player with a good attitude. Takes ownership; shift responsibility. Precise under pressure and reliable to keep production moving. Self‑directed; can run floor with a smaller team. Comfortable using software for digital tracking. Organized and detail oriented. High agency; handles big items, asks for help when needed. Low ego; does unglamorous work. Able to lift up to 50 lbs and operate heavy equipment on feet for a full shift. Happy to work weekends as primary schedule. Not afraid to work outside normal hours when demanded. Never says "that’s not my job". Nice to have: Experience in metals, aluminum, or aerospace/defense supply chains. Forklift and/or overhead crane certification. Background in fast‑paced manufacturing environment. Comfortable using AI tools to work faster and smarter.
