Macdonald & Cody, LLP is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to support the day-to-day financial operations of our growing insurance defense law firm. This role offers a varied mix of accounting responsibilities and the opportunity to contribute directly to the firm’s financial accuracy and continued growth.

What you’ll do:

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities for the firm.
• Process vendor invoices, manage accounts payable, and coordinate payments.
• Complete daily banking and deposits.
• Reconcile multiple accounts monthly and research discrepancies.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and maintain accurate accounting records.
• Record transactions in QuickBooks.
• Assist with IOLTA trust accounting and related reconciliations.
• Review and process employee expense reimbursements.
• Support payroll processing and related recordkeeping.
• Assist with audits and special projects as needed.

What will help you succeed:

• Bookkeeping, accounting, and QuickBooks experience.
• Some experience in a law firm setting is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate data-entry skills.
• Excellent organization and the ability to prioritize deadlines.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate with the team.
• Integrity, sound judgment, and a commitment to protecting confidential information.
• Comfort managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to successfully complete the firm’s required background and credit checks.

Compensation & benefits:

Hourly pay: $24.00–$30.00, depending on experience and qualifications

Position details:

Location: Irvine, California. This is an in-office position, not hybrid. Local candidates are preferred.

Reports to: Firm Administrator.
