Make a meaningful difference supporting middle school learners in a dynamic, inclusive educational environment. A Special Education Teacher is needed for a full-time contract position spanning from now through May 21st, 2027. This role allows you to co-teach and collaborate within both 6th and 7th/8th grade classrooms, focusing on engagement, accessibility, and promoting student success.

Key Qualifications:

• Hold an active GaPSC SPED Consultative P-12 Teaching Endorsement.
• Experience working in middle school settings—6th through 8th grade preferred.
• Knowledge or direct experience with eligibilities including Autism, OHI, SLD, MID, EBD.
• Experience collaborating in co-taught or inclusion classrooms, supporting students with a range of learning and behavioral needs.
• Commitment to fostering positive, supportive learning environments and effectively implementing behavior plans as needed.

What You'll Do:

• Co-teach Math and Science for a caseload of 10–12 sixth graders and ELA and Science for 10–12 seventh and eighth graders.
• Deliver instruction in a co-taught/inclusion setting, partnering with general education teachers to differentiate lessons and engage diverse learners.
• Monitor student progress, adapting strategies to support IEP goals and facilitate smooth transitions for students entering middle school.
• Collaborate in the development and implementation of behavior plans, supporting positive student conduct.
• Maintain compliance with all special education documentation, reporting, and professional standards.
