We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join a team in Phoenix, Arizona on a Long-term Contract basis. This position supports day-to-day payable operations in a fully onsite environment and is well suited for someone who communicates confidently with vendors and manages invoice activity with accuracy. The role will contribute to efficient payment processing while helping strengthen accounts payable workflows and overall transaction quality.

Responsibilities:
• Review, code, and enter vendor invoices accurately while ensuring charges are assigned to the correct accounts.
• Communicate with suppliers to resolve invoice discrepancies, payment questions, and account issues in a timely manner.
• Prepare and process ACH payments and check runs according to established schedules and controls.
• Reconcile payable records, investigate variances, and maintain organized documentation for audit readiness.
• Monitor invoice status and payment deadlines to support consistent and timely disbursements.
• Partner with internal teams to verify approvals, clarify coding, and improve the efficiency of accounts payable activities.
• Assist with enhancements to accounts payable procedures, including support for expense-related process updates when needed.• 5+ years of hands-on accounts payable experience, especially in high-volume invoice processing environments.
• Practical experience with invoice coding, account allocation, ACH transactions, and check run processing.
• Ability to work directly with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve payment and documentation issues effectively.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy across data entry, reconciliations, and recordkeeping.
• Comfortable working fully onsite in Phoenix, Arizona.
• Prior experience with ERP or accounting systems; familiarity with Deltek Costpoint is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree is not required; equivalent accounts payable experience is acceptable.
