About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (CVPICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Current NC or Compact license in hand Certifications: BLS, PALS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience (preferred) - Patient ratio experience of 2 - Experience with Epic charting system (preferred) - Community hospital experience (preferred) - LTAC experience (preferred) - Trauma Level I or II experience (preferred) Description: Candidates must have experience in pediatric cardiac intensive care. Shift schedule is 3 nights per week from 19:00 to 07:30. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. Floating may be required within the facility. Orientation will be bi-weekly. Candidates can expect a patient ratio of 1:1. Daily census in the unit is approximately 20. The unit cares for neonates, adolescents, infants, and pediatric patients. Staffing includes interdisciplinary support from various specialists. Candidates will work with complex congenital heart disease cases. Specific skills required include hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management. Knowledge of administering anti-seizure medications and IV vasopressors is essential. Experience with blood product administration and management of central lines is preferred. Familiarity with CRRT and ECMO protocols is advantageous. Candidates must adhere to infection control policies and isolation precautions. Attendance policy allows for three absences per contract period. Excessive tardiness or no-call/no-show incidents may result in contract review.
