Sr Mechanical Designer, Assets

Position Title: SENIOR MECHANICAL DESIGNERLocation: HOUSTON TX FLSA Class: EXEMPTResponsible to: HEAD OF PROJECT ENGINEERINGPosition Summary: This position is primarily responsible for the creation, organization, and dissemination of mechanical designs as needed by the Engineering team. Duties can involve some hands-on lab work, and document writing.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Use Inventor/ AutoCad software to create detailed 3D designs for complex assets for power generation and natural gas solutions.Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other team members to develop accurate and complete schematics.Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.Perform quality checks on completed schematics to ensure accuracy.Maintain organized and accurate records of schematics and related documentation.Continuously improve skills and knowledge related to drafting and AutoCAD software.Assist the team with equipment drawings and installation/testing.Collaborate with engineers to develop accurate technical specifications and RFQ’s.Qualifications:10+ years of experience in drafting with mechanical systems.5+ years of industry-related experience or an associate degree in a technical field.Proficient in AutoCAD and related software.Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.A willingness to learn and adapt to changing technologies and industry practices.Valid driver’s license.Other Preferred Qualifications:Experience with the installation, operation, or troubleshooting of industrial automation equipment.Extensive knowledge and proficiency with the company’s preferred software. (AutoCAD,SolidWorks Electrical/Mechanical, Excel) and the ability to learn new software quicklyExperience with SolidWorks.Ability to take direction from engineering team and work independently to design systems per project design specificationsKnowledge of relevant codes and standards.The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification.
