Accounts Receivable Clerk - Legal Billing & Collections | Temp-to-Hire

Are you an Accounts Receivable professional with experience in legal billing and collections ? An established organization in Woodland Hills, CA is looking for an experienced AR Clerk to join its accounting team in a temp-to-hire capacity.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is confident managing outstanding balances, working directly with clients on collections, and partnering with internal teams to resolve billing issues.

What You'll Do:

• Manage accounts receivable and monitor outstanding balances and aging.
• Follow up on past-due invoices and client accounts.
• Contact clients professionally regarding payments, balances, and billing questions.
• Research billing discrepancies and resolve account issues.
• Work with attorneys and accounting/billing personnel on invoice and payment questions.
• Track payment arrangements and promised payments.
• Process or assist with billing adjustments, credits, write-offs, and account corrections.
• Reconcile accounts and resolve unapplied payments.
• Assist with month-end close and AR reporting.
• Prepare reports using Microsoft Excel and accounting/billing systems.
• Maintain accurate and confidential financial records.

What We're Looking For:

• 2+ years of AR, collections, legal billing, bookkeeping, or accounting experience.
• Law firm experience strongly preferred.
• Legal billing and collections experience highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of AR aging, payment application, reconciliations, and collections.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Additional Preferred Experience:

• Law firm accounting or billing.
• Legal billing/accounting software.
• Client ledgers and aged receivables.
• Trust or retainer account records.
• Microsoft Access.

Pay & Benefits:

• $28.00-$32.00 per hour
• Temp-to-hire
• Benefits may be available during the temporary assignment based on eligibility.
• Additional benefits once a permanent employee include medical/dental, 401k, holiday pay & PTO
• On-site parking.

100% on-site

Pay Details: $28.00 to $32.00 per hour
