Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students as a contract Special Education Teacher, working full time (35-37.5 hours per week) in a supportive school environment near Sunnyvale, CA. In this role, you'll provide specialized instruction to students requiring mild and moderate support, helping them achieve academic and personal success throughout the school year. Your expertise will ensure each learner’s needs are met with compassion and skill.
What you'll bring:
- Active California CTC license with Mild/Moderate authorization (required)
- Certified as a Special Education Teacher; prior experience in resource specialist program (RSP) settings is a plus
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, students, and parents
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction aligned with each student’s IEP goals
- Assess student progress and document growth and challenges
- Collaborate with general educators and related service staff
- Adapt curriculum materials as needed to support varying learning styles
- Communicate effectively with families regarding student achievement and ongoing needs
- Advocate for an equitable educational experience for every student
