Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13–26 Weeks | 12-Hour Night Shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 36 or 48 Hours Per Week | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 42-bed Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with a primary focus on stroke, neurosurgery, epilepsy, traumatic and non-traumatic subdural hematomas, and other neurological diagnoses
• Perform IV insertion , continuous telemetry monitoring, and interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
• Utilize unit systems including EPIC, PYXIS, and SBAR for charting and medication administration
• Float as required to other Med/Surg and Telemetry areas within the facility, which may include COVID care units
• Adhere to a preferred scheduling model; any missed shifts are expected to be made up within the same week or at the end of the contract
• Wear navy scrubs per unit dress code

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact RN license (pending licensure acceptable at time of submission)
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year of direct Medical Surgical experience
• Must have completed at least 2 successful travel contracts — first-time travelers will not be considered
• BCLS certification required
• NIH / NIHSS certification required
• Demonstrated experience with telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and Med/Surg neuro care
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Local candidates are welcome to apply; a local pay rate will apply for candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• Prior experience caring for stroke or neurosurgical patient populations
• Familiarity with Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) workflows or neuro-specific monitoring
