Sr. Software Engineer - Java Back-End

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We expect formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, along with 5+ years of hands-on experience.
• We look for strong architecture and design skills, including proven use of design patterns, engineering best practices, security fundamentals, secure coding, analysis, and code review for internet applications.
• We require experience with unit, integration, and contract testing, plus automation frameworks and pipelines such as JUnit, Mockito, and Spring Test.
• We need expertise with third-party SDKs, components, and protocols including AWS SDKs, connections, IBM MQ, Kafka, Cassandra, Oracle, GraalVM, and TLS 1.3.
• We value proficiency in service development using REST and SOAP, along with strong API design principles, JSON/XML messaging, and SOA.
• We expect knowledge of databases and data access frameworks such as MyBatis, Hibernate, Oracle, Cassandra, and CockroachDB.
• We need experience building cloud-native microservices at scale using Kubernetes, Docker, EKS, service discovery, configuration management, and AWS services such as NLB, ALB, SQS, Redis, S3, Route 53, API/NAT Gateways, Secrets Manager, IAM, and VPC, as well as IaC tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
• We look for familiarity with messaging and event-streaming APIs such as Kafka, caching solutions like Redis, and both SQL and NoSQL datastores.
• We expect exposure to observability practices and tools covering metrics, tracing, logs, and performance benchmarking at scale.
• We require proficiency in network and security technologies including Kerberos, TLS 1.3, OAuth2, ADFS, Envoy Proxy, HAProxy, SpiderMesh, and OWASP.
• We look for proficiency with frameworks and libraries such as Spring, Spring Boot, SLF4J, Jackson, Hystrix, and JMS.
• Preferred qualifications include experience developing shared libraries or frameworks adopted by multiple product teams.
• Preferred qualifications include experience in large-scale enterprise environments or financial services.

• We build low-latency, high-throughput APIs and event-driven systems optimized for very high transaction volumes and near-zero downtime.
• We profile, identify, and optimize existing code, including work developed by other team members.
