Sr Lead Software Engineer - Java Fullstack AI

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal software engineering training or certification, with 5+ years of applied experience
• Hands-on experience across system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Strong background in modern architectures, including microservices, REST and GraphQL APIs, NoSQL data stores, and Kafka eventing
• Experience building AI-native applications using Claude Code
• Working knowledge of AWS or comparable cloud platforms
• Experience delivering at least two large, complex application build-outs end to end, ideally within a major financial organization or a leading technology product team
• Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps toolchains, software monitoring, and test-driven agile delivery
• Demonstrated use of enterprise-approved AI-assisted development tools, with the ability to set expectations for validating outputs for accuracy, performance, and security
• Solid understanding of responsible AI practices in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resilience and security controls
• Ability to solve design and functionality challenges independently with minimal oversight
• Practical cloud-native experience
• Experience partnering with Product, collaborating effectively, influencing decisions, and constructively challenging assumptions to drive the best outcomes

• Lead a global Scrum team to deliver commitments and take full ownership of business outcomes
• Partner closely with Product teams to shape direction and propose technical solutions to business challenges
• Identify improvement opportunities and introduce ideas that create meaningful client impact
• Embed AI into both solution delivery and team working practices, while mentoring developers toward AI-first approaches
• Define a long-term platform vision focused on scale, resilience, and flexibility
• Architect secure, robust, and adaptable solutions for future business needs
• Promote strong system design, integration, modernization, documentation, and design-pattern standards across teams
• Address technical debt proactively so the team can stay focused on delivering value
• Lead by example, elevate team performance, and coach junior developers into senior technologists
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others
• Drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, speed, and operational outcomes
• Apply SDLC toolchain knowledge, including approved AI-enabled automation, to increase automation value at scale
• Influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
• Act as a subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
• Contribute actively to the engineering community and advocate for firmwide SDLC frameworks, tools, and practices
