Principal Scientist, Discovery-Oncology

Johnson & Johnson seeks two Principal Scientists for oncology discovery in Spring House, Pennsylvania. The role involves leading scientific teams in developing pharmacology packages for T-cell engagers and small molecule therapeutics targeting prostate cancer, with emphasis on overcoming solid tumor microenvironment challenges.

Responsibilities

• Lead or work with scientific teams to nominate candidates for discovery portfolio programs
• Design, develop, and execute assays to identify optimal T-cell engager candidates for solid tumors
• Partner across therapeutic areas to select optimal binders, molecular configurations, and delivery strategies
• Foster scientific excellence and innovation while removing collaboration barriers
• Mentor junior scientists and contribute to intellectual property, presentations, and manuscript writing

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Cancer Biology or Immunology with 6+ years industry experience
• Demonstrated program leadership and team management in discovery phase
• Hands-on experience with T-cell engagers or small molecule therapeutics
• Knowledge of assays for characterizing T-cell functional performance
• Track record advancing therapeutic candidates through lead selection and IND-enabling
• Experience with academic and industry research collaborations
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
