Embark on a meaningful contract role as a Special Education Teacher supporting students with Significant Support Needs (SSN) at an engaging elementary school setting near Aurora, CO. This opportunity empowers passionate educators to make a substantial difference in the lives of young learners by developing individualized education plans and delivering specialized instruction.
In this position, you will work onsite from Tuesday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for a total of 34 hours per week during the academic year beginning August 2026 through early June 2027. This unique schedule offers a long weekend every week with Mondays off, creating an excellent work-life balance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing tailored instruction for students with significant support needs
- Collaborating with general education teachers, support staff, and families to develop effective strategies
- Maintaining compliance with IEP regulations and documentation requirements
- Engaging in ongoing professional development to support best practices in special education
- Promoting a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Qualifications and experience:
- Active CDE Special Education Teacher licensure required
- Previous experience with students with intellectual, physical, or multiple disabilities strongly preferred
- Demonstrated understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Commitment to upholding high standards for students with diverse learning needs
