Travel Radiation Therapist

American Traveler seeks a Radiation Therapist with a Maine or compact state license and a minimum of 1 year of experience for a 13-week travel assignment in a hospital Radiation Oncology department.

Job Details

• Work in a hospital-based Radiation Oncology department serving both outpatient and inpatient populations,
• Primarily adult and geriatric patients with a very small pediatric caseload,
• Average of 90 patients per day across three linacs,
• Equipment includes three Varian TrueBeam LINACs and one Siemens Somatom Go Open Pro CT Simulator,
• EMR: Mosaiq,
• Monday-Friday schedule, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM; no weekends or call required,
• Floating between linacs as needed,
• Holidays covered on a rotating basis with other techs,
• RTO requires manager approval,
• 4-week schedules provided to the best of facility ability; specific shift assignments may vary based on departmental need,

Job Requirements

• Active Maine state license or compact license required (license required if applicable),
• Current BLS and ARRT (T) certifications required,
• Minimum of 1 year of Radiation Therapy experience required, preferably with Mosaiq and/or Varian TrueBeam,
• Mosaiq EMR experience preferred,
• TrueBeam LINAC experience preferred,
• Candidates must have a permanent address 100+ miles south/southwest of the facility to be eligible,
• Candidates must not have previously worked at any Northern Light Health Hospital in a permanent capacity,
• Full SSN, Driver's License, and copies of all certifications required for consideration,
• 2 professional references within the past year required, with at least one from a supervisor, manager, director, or charge nurse (peer references not accepted),
• Work history must include hospital name, location, bed count, trauma level, teaching hospital status, and EMR/charting details,

Additional Information

• Level II Trauma Center serving approximately two-thirds of the state, with the nearest alternate trauma center over 2 hours away,
• Facility is also a Certified Stroke Center with 411 beds,
• Orientation is approximately 1-1.5 weeks depending on experience and comfort level,
• Flu vaccination is required for clearance; medical exemptions only are accepted and subject to facility review (minimum 2-week review period required),
• Scrubs may be any solid, professional color; scrubs can be provided by the facility if needed,

• First-time travelers will be considered,
• Candidates living 100+ miles north of the facility may be considered on a case-by-case basis with individual approval
