Oncology Sales Specialist - Birmingham, AL

Job Description Our Company’s Oncology organization is dedicated to delivering breakthrough innovations that extend and improve the lives of cancer patients worldwide. Responsibilities Demonstrate in‑depth knowledge of creating a compelling and logical rationale for the value of products and how to contrast, compare, and position our company brand(s) versus competition using appropriate resources in informed discussions with HCP customers. Act as the primary point of contact for customers and meet with key personnel to understand practice structure, business model, and key influencers. Possess knowledge of cancer staging and possible treatment options and dosing schedules associated with different tumors and diseases, with a comprehensive understanding of their impact on the patient. Understand the impact and use of clinical trials in multiple tumor types/therapies, both on the promoted products and on the account’s practice behavior. Analyze and identify trends in a complex buying environment, including multiple channels of drug distribution, Oncology GPOs, wholesalers, and specialty pharmacies. Review and evaluate patterns for products purchased and prescribed, outpatient vs. inpatient infusion, and hospital contracts. Understand complex account interdependencies to develop both short‑ and long‑term account plans in conjunction with the account team and supervisor. Share learnings and best practices from one customer to help other customers meet their needs. Influence beyond the specific geography or product area by asking strategic, insightful questions to obtain information on customer needs from all stakeholders in oncology accounts, using the insights to position our company Oncology brands and collaborate with customers on a customized strategy. Collaborate and communicate effectively with the extended “in‑scope” customer team to ensure a consistent customer experience across our company’s divisions and functional areas. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree with 8years of sales experience OR a high school diploma with at least 10years of equivalent experience (professional sales, healthcare/scientific field not sales related, professional marketing, or military). 2+ years of oncology field sales experience. Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a motor vehicle. Ability to travel the amount of time the role requires (approximately 25%). Preferred Experience and Skills: Documented history of strong performance in a sales/marketing or oncology clinical role. Clinical oncology experience across multiple solid tumors (e.g., RCC, prostate cancer). Candidates with 0–2years of oncology field sales experience will be hired at the S2 Oncology Sales Representative level. Candidates with 2+years of oncology field sales experience will be hired at the S3 Oncology Sales Specialist level. Travel Overnight travel may be required about 25% of the time. Travel percentage varies based on the candidate’s location within the Birmingham, Huntsville, and Tuscaloosa, Alabama territory. Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $156,900.00 – $247,000.00. Annual bonus and long‑term incentive, if applicable. Medical, dental, vision and other insurance benefits (employee and family). Retirement benefits including 401(k).
