Bilingual Benefits Customer Service Representative (Spanish/English) REMOTE
Location: San Diego, CA 92108 (remote after initial training/onboarding)
Schedule: Full-time; must be flexible within 8:00 AM–9:00 PM (shifts assigned). Busy season may include overtime; off-season may fluctuate 32–40 hrs/week
Pay: $19.25/hr (W2)
Summary
Hiring a Remote after Training Bilingual Benefits Customer Service Representative to support employees and plan members with health benefits and pension plan questions. If you have strong Spanish/English communication skills, call center customer service experience, and can document clear case notes while navigating multiple systems, this Bilingual Benefits Customer Service Representative role is a strong fit. You’ll spend most of your day on inbound calls, with opportunities for chat/message support as you gain experience.
Responsibilities
- Handle inbound calls and assist Spanish- and English-speaking members with benefits enrollment, plan updates, and general support
- Explain health benefits and pension plan information in clear, simple terms customers can understand
- Maintain accurate call/case notes in English; document actions, outcomes, and next steps
- Use online knowledge bases and plan documents to research answers and anticipate member needs
- Protect sensitive information (medical/financial/personal) and follow HIPAA and data privacy requirements
- Multitask across multiple computer windows/tools while maintaining quality and professionalism
- Participate in team meetings, coaching, and ongoing training
Qualifications
- Fluent Spanish and English (must switch seamlessly between languages)
- Customer service experience; call center/inbound phone experience strongly preferred
- Strong written communication and accurate documentation skills
- Comfortable working in a structured environment (scheduled shifts, breaks, adherence to process)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); comfortable navigating multiple systems
- Able to type 30 WPM or faster
- High school diploma or GED required (college coursework a plus)
- Reliable remote-work setup with a quiet workspace (when remote)
