Senior Employee Benefits Account Executive

Role Overview Brown & Brown is hiring a Large Group Senior Employee Benefits Account Executive in Phoenix, AZ. The primary responsibility is to manage an assigned book of business with high independence. This executive will maintain comprehensive knowledge of employee benefits, funding mechanisms, compliance, and trends, act as a coach, and use discretionary judgment on advanced tasks and projects. Responsibilities Work with producers on new business opportunities, including attending initial prospect visits and finalist presentations. Collaborate with the Account Manager to ensure timely onboarding that meets expectations and internal policies. Coordinate with the Account Manager, Marketing, and Tech teams to deliver all customer deliverables (reporting, renewals, benefit guides, marketing strategy, OE materials, contribution strategies, project timelines, technology, and wellness strategies). Formulate marketing strategy with customers and communicate to the marketing team. Introduce B&B products and services that enhance benefit goals, generate revenue, and support retention. Coordinate with Marketing/Tech to establish timelines, deliverables, and required carriers, contribution strategies, and plan alternates. Communicate open‑enrollment timelines and deadlines to account and finance teams. Act as primary contact for the account manager on escalated service and compliance issues. Review existing plans and documents; identify gaps, compliance issues, and recommended changes. Coordinate compliance reviews within the first six months and ensure follow‑through. Meet with carrier reps, executives, and underwriters for renewals, product education, and CPE events. Assist with RFP responses and conduct quarterly or semi‑annual claims/data reviews. Provide annual pre‑renewal and renewal meetings, advising customers on benefit matters. Deliver or coordinate coverage for open‑enrollment meetings. Ensure all IO responsibilities are met for customers. Licenses & Certifications AZ Life and Health License. Qualifications & Skills Minimum of a 4‑year degree or equivalent work experience. 9+ years of employee benefits experience with thorough knowledge of employee benefits for level and self‑funded groups. 4+ years of financial experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Ability to maintain high confidentiality. Familiarity with complex benefit issues. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities. Ability to work independently. Detail‑oriented and excellent organizational skills.
