Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting students in a center-based classroom setting. A school in the Burnsville, MN area seeks an experienced Special Education Teacher for an on-site, long-term assignment beginning as soon as possible and continuing through May 28, 2027. This position fills a critical backfill need within a supportive educational environment dedicated to making a positive impact.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Minnesota teaching credential in Special Education: Developmental Cognitive Disabilities
- Demonstrated experience working with students in special education, preferably in a center-based classroom
- Ability to create inclusive learning environments and adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, working effectively with support staff, administration, and families
- Organized, compassionate, and driven to provide high-quality educational support
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to students with developmental cognitive disabilities in a center-based setting
- Develop, implement, and track individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize educational outcomes
- Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and classroom management techniques to foster growth
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in team meetings, parent conferences, and professional development as required
