Lead Cook
Join the culinary team at Angler's Hotel – Miami Beach as a Lead Cook ! We're looking for an experienced, motivated culinary professional to help lead our kitchen operations while preparing exceptional food for our guests. As a working leader, you'll oversee daily kitchen production, support and mentor team members, and ensure every dish meets our quality, presentation, and food safety standards.
What You'll Do- Lead kitchen operations during assigned shifts while actively preparing menu items.
- Prepare and cook food according to standardized recipes and presentation standards.
- Coordinate food production to ensure timely service across breakfast, pool dining, Habana Restaurant, and other food & beverage outlets.
- Monitor food quality, consistency, portion control, and presentation.
- Assist with menu preparation, production planning, and kitchen organization.
- Train, coach, and support members of the culinary team.
- Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate product shortages or ordering needs.
- Receive, label, store, and rotate food products using FIFO procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
- Support opening, closing, and daily kitchen operations while working collaboratively with the Food & Beverage team.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a commercial kitchen or hospitality environment.
- Previous experience leading a kitchen team or supervising culinary operations is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, food safety, and sanitation standards.
- Experience with inventory management and kitchen organization is a plus.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and time management skills.
- Dependable, organized, and able to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
- English communication skills required; Spanish is a plus.
- Availability to work flexible schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and safely operate commercial kitchen equipment.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment with exposure to heat, steam, sharp equipment, and kitchen noise.
