This is a direct hire opportunity. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who wants to do meaningful litigation work from day one rather than spending the first several years of their career sitting behind the scenes. The Associate Attorney will work closely with experienced trial attorneys and gain hands on exposure to depositions, hearings, experts, case strategy, and trial preparation. Client Profile Boutique plaintiff litigation firm representing individuals and families in medical malpractice, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and other personal injury matters throughout Texas. The firm offers a collaborative environment where associates work directly with experienced trial attorneys and are given meaningful responsibility early in their careers. The team places a strong emphasis on mentorship, professional development, open communication, and providing attorneys with the experience necessary to grow into accomplished trial lawyers. Associate Attorney Role Work closely with experienced trial attorneys throughout the lifecycle of medical malpractice and personal injury cases Review medical records and evaluate how the records align with the facts and allegations of each case Identify appropriate medical experts and work directly with experts throughout litigation Draft petitions, demands, pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents Assist with drafting initial expert reports and other expert related materials Take and defend depositions Participate in hearings, trial preparation, and trials Prepare and respond to written discovery Review and refine discovery prepared with support from the paralegal team Communicate with treating physicians and evaluate potential testimony Participate directly in case strategy and discussions regarding case development Help move cases from initial investigation through financial resolution Work directly with clients and advocate for individuals and families impacted by serious injuries Gain meaningful courtroom and trial experience, with the firm typically handling approximately one to two trials per year Requirements (Must Have) Licensed Texas attorney with at least 6 months of licensure Genuine interest in plaintiff litigation, particularly medical malpractice and personal injury Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills Highly organized with excellent attention to detail Motivated self starter who wants to take ownership of their work and continue developing as a litigator Eager to gain experience with depositions, hearings, experts, and trials Comfortable working collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, experts, clients, and medical professionals Passion for advocating for injured clients and their families Primarily onsite in Dallas with potential flexibility for one to two work from home days Typical workload is approximately 40 to 45 hours per week, with additional hours occasionally required during trial preparation or periods with significant deadlines Preferred Skills / Experience Prior litigation or personal injury experience is beneficial, but the firm is open to developing an attorney with the right foundation and desire to learn Benefits and Features Competitive base salary commensurate with experience plus flexible bonus structure Opportunity for substantial hands on litigation experience early in your career Direct mentorship from experienced trial attorneys Meaningful client interaction and involvement in case strategy Exposure to depositions, hearings, experts, trial preparation, and courtroom proceedings Collaborative and supportive team environment Long term professional growth and advancement opportunities After 60 day introductory period: Medical insurance with 85% of the employee's monthly premium paid by the firm HSA option Dental insurance available Vision insurance available Firm paid life insurance policy Aflac supplemental insurance available 401(k) with employer matching up to 6% 9 paid holidays Job RequirementsActive Texas Bar license for at least 6 months
