Work Environment\n

As a remote position, this role is designed to allow flexibility while ensuring you are connected to our outpatient office team. While most activities may be conducted virtually, team meetings and collaborative sessions will occur regularly to foster unity and effective treatment planning. Work hours follow a standard schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, allowing for a work-life balance that many professionals seek in today’s fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients, identifying their individual emotional and psychological needs, and establishing personalized care strategies.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions focusing on themes such as grief management, adjustment to aging, and coping with loss.

• Collaborate closely with primary care providers, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized treatment plans that support each client's mental health journey.

• Deliver educational workshops to staff and family members about enhancing the emotional well-being of elderly clients and addressing the complexities associated with aging.

• Provide grief and loss counseling for clients and families experiencing end-of-life transitions, helping them navigate their emotional responses with sensitivity and compassion.

• Initiate and oversee cognitive stimulation programs aimed at enhancing mental acuity and overall cognitive health for our geriatric clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily focuses on geriatric clients, providing mental health support to seniors dealing with various emotional challenges resulting from aging. Clients may present with depression, anxiety, grief, and cognitive impairment, requiring a counselor with a compassionate approach and solid understanding of the complexities of aging. Our clinical practice strives to address the diverse backgrounds of our clients, ensuring that services are culturally aware and personalized to individual needs.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from a recognized institution.

• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential in the state of Massachusetts.

• A minimum of 3 years of recent experience providing counseling and mental health support specifically for elderly clients.

• Additional certifications or specialized training in geriatric mental health, grief counseling, or related fields.

Compensation and Benefits\n
