Construction Project Coordinator

Reports To: Senior Project Manager or Construction Manager Salary: $70,000- $90,000 plus performance-based bonus/profit sharing Position Summary The Project Coordinator provides operational, administrative, and logistical support for Columbia Electric, Inc.'s construction projects and field operations. This position plays a critical role in maximizing field productivity, coordinating labor and equipment resources, monitoring project costs, and supporting Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle. The Project Coordinator serves as a key link between field operations, project management, accounting, vendors, and clients to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project schedules and budgets. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Field Operations & Logistics Coordinate daily labor and equipment dispatch with Superintendents and Project Managers. Assist in planning and executing project logistics to maximize crew productivity and minimize downtime. Monitor workforce utilization and resource allocation across multiple projects. Coordinate equipment repairs, maintenance, and rentals with internal mechanics and third-party vendors. Support project mobilization and demobilization efforts. Project Administration Ensure geo project setup in various platforms including HCSS, Samsara, Pro-contractor etc… Ensure project startup checklists and administrative requirements are completed accurately and on time. Monitor and track Dig Alert tickets and utility coordination requirements. Cost Control & Reporting Review daily timecards for accuracy, proper cost coding, and payroll compliance. Track daily production quantities and project costs. Analyze budget performance and compare actual costs against estimates and projections. Assist Project Managers with forecasting labor, equipment, and material requirements. Generate reports and communicate project performance metrics to management. Project Coordination Coordinate with Project Managers to identify upcoming project needs and schedule requirements. Assist in planning work activities to support project schedules and milestones. Facilitate communication between field personnel, vendors, subcontractors, and management. Support project closeout activities and documentation. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook. Familiarity with construction management software, job costing systems, and project administration tools. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. High attention to detail, particularly regarding payroll, cost coding, and project documentation. Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment. Self-motivated with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Positive, team-oriented, and solutions-focused attitude. Education Required High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field. Experience Preferred Minimum of three (3) years of experience in project coordination, construction administration, dispatching, estimating, cost control, or related construction operations. Additional Requirements Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to visit project sites as needed. Ability to work in both office and field environments.
