Job Description

Job Summary:
The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for sterilizing and processing surgical instruments and supplies to ensure they meet safety and hygiene standards. They support surgical teams by maintaining the availability of sterile instruments and tools critical for patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment following established procedures.
• Inspect, assemble, and package surgical supplies to ensure proper functionality and cleanliness.
• Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization cycles and inventory levels.
• Follow safety protocols and compliance standards to prevent contamination or infection.
• Collaborate with surgical and clinical staff to coordinate instrument turnaround times.
• Monitor and report equipment performance issues and restock supplies as needed.

Qualifications:

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent credential.
• Certification as a Central Service Technician or Sterile Processing Technician required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Sterile Processing or related healthcare environments.
• Current certification as a Certified Instrument Specialist or Endoscope Reprocessor preferred.
• Knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control, and safety standards.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
