The Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta University, invites applications for a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor of General Psychiatry. Applicants must have completed a residency in Psychiatry and be either board-certified or board-eligible in General Psychiatry. The selected candidate must be eligible for licensure in Georgia. Providers will provide attending physician services and resident/fellow supervision services at outpatient clinics in the department.

Responsibilities include providing general psychiatry services through the outpatient clinic in the Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior through Wellstar MCG Health with or without learners present, attending 80% of departmental meetings and grand rounds, and maintaining licensure.

Required qualifications include MD, DO, MBBS, or foreign equivalent. Assistant Professors should have early level career as a faculty member with appropriate post graduate training. Associate Professors should have at least five years at the rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience. Professors should have at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience. All candidates must meet the requirements for institutional accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), demonstrate ability as a teacher, show activity as a scholar, and possess desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.

Preferred qualifications include fellowship in Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT).

This position is fiscal year based and works year-round. The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time. Salary and compensation are commensurate with education, experience, and achievements and are subject to availability of funds.
