Director of DevelopmentThe Director of Development is responsible for planning, organizing and directing Axess Family Services fundraising, major gifts, planned giving, special events and special campaigns.Supervisor: Executive DirectorDuties and Responsibilities:Develop and execute Axess Family Services Annual Fundraising plan.Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with major donors.Build a planned giving program with a focus on deferred gifts.Create and execute a strategy for a large, sustained base of annual individual donors.Oversee the organization of special events.Maintain gift recognition programs.Coordinate fundraising special events.Work closely with the management team to focus on fundraising endeavors.Make public appearances to share information about Axess Family Services.Demonstrate professional conduct at all times.Other duties as assigned.The Duties and Responsibilities above represent the most significant duties of this position, but do not exclude other assignments that would be within the qualification and responsibility levels of this position.RequirementsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's DegreeStrong interpersonal and writing skills.Skills to motivate staff, board members and other volunteersOrganized and exhibit follow through on tasks and goalsReliable transportationAbility to meet agency requirements for criminal background checkAbility to meet agency requirements for driving insurabilityValid, unrestricted State of Ohio driver's license3 years' experience in professional fundraisingLicenses or Certifications Required:Valid, unrestricted State of Ohio driver's licenseCompliance:This position requires compliance with AFS' written standards, including its Compliance Program and Standards of Conduct and policies and procedures.
