Step into a pivotal role supporting student health at a vibrant elementary school near Plainfield, IL. This contract opportunity is ideal for 1-2 Certified School Nurses (CSN) or CSN students with a passion for school nursing and a collaborative, student-focused mindset. The current opening is at a dynamic school with a supportive administrative and office staff, serving a diverse student population—including those with multi-needs and 1:1 nursing supports. The assignment runs from ASAP through May 28, 2027, with weekday hours from 8:25am to 3:40pm.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) and Professional Educator License (PEL) with Certified School Nurse endorsement—required, not substitutional for RN, LPN, or CNA.
• Must have completed or be in the process of completing CSN-specific coursework (typically requiring 1–2 years).
• Experience as a CSN strongly preferred; school-based nursing experience is a plus.
• Bilingual Spanish skills are highly desirable.
• Demonstrated commitment to strong attendance and reliability.
• Technology proficiency for managing electronic health records and digital IEP/504 plan documentation.
• Flexibility and a collaborative team approach—essential qualities for thriving in this setting.
• Willingness to assist students with personal care needs, as required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of the health office, responding to student health needs.
• Complete comprehensive medical reviews and actively participate in IEP and 504 processes.
• Support students with health or personal care needs, including restroom assistance if necessary.
• Foster positive relationships with students, families, and school staff, reinforcing a team-oriented environment.
