This role is ideal for an HR professional who values service, collaboration, and supporting employees who do meaningful work in their communities.As a key member of a collaborative HR team, you will work closely with HR leadership, payroll, and colleagues to ensure employees receive accurate guidance, timely support, and a positive experience throughout their employment lifecycle.* Location: Hybrid - 4 days onsite in San Rafael (near SMART), 1 day work from home* Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, typical business hours with some flexibility* Duration: 3 month temporary, with the potential for temp-to-hire* Benefits: Generous benefits upon permanent hire* Background Check: Hire contingent on a clear federal and state criminal background checkHR Generalist Responsibilities* Administer and support HR programs including employee benefits, leaves of absence (CFRA/FMLA/PDL/PFL/Disability), HRIS, and compliance* Serve as a primary point of contact for employees regarding benefits, leave options, and HR related questions* Manage benefits enrollments, life events, terminations, COBRA, and open enrollment activities or coordinate and track leave cases and required documentation* Partner with payroll to ensure accurate deductions, benefit contributions, and leave coordination* Maintain employee records and HR documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements* Support employee relations matters, policy interpretation, and workplace inquiries* Assist with compliance reporting, audits, and required state and federal documentation* Contribute to a respectful, inclusive workplace culture aligned with the organization’s missionHR Generalist Qualifications* Prior experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar HR role, with hands on exposure to benefits administration and/or leave management* Working knowledge of California employment laws and HR best practices* Experience working with HRIS and collaborating closely with payroll* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail* Professional, approachable communication style and a service oriented mindset* Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, education, or other mission driven environments strongly preferred #J-18808-Ljbffr Sfbayhcc
