Dietary Aide

The Dietary Aide assists in food preparation, food tray preparation and delivery to facility residents; cleans the kitchen and dining area under the supervision of the Dietary Manager or Cook by performing the following duties. Responsibilities Read production orders on diet cards on trays to determine items to place on tray Place items such as eating utensils, napkins, and condiments on trays Prepare food items such as sandwiches, salads, soups, and beverages under the supervision of the cook Place servings in blender to make foods for soft or liquid diets Apportion and place food servings on plates and trays according to diet list on diet card Examine filled tray for completeness and quality assurance of food tray and place on cart Push carts to dining room or halls and serve trays to residents Collect and stack dirty dishes on cart and return cart to kitchen Store food and supplies properly Wash dishes and clean work area, tables, cabinets, and ovens Collect and place garbage and trash in designated containers Record amount and type of special food items served to residents Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily.
