Type: Contract-to-Hire
Pay: $20–$25/hr, depending on experience
About the Role
We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to join a small, family-owned company in a close-knit office environment. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a hands-on role and is comfortable wearing multiple hats across payroll, AP, and AR.
Responsibilities
- Process payroll for approximately 10–12 employees
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Enter and maintain financial information accurately
- Assist with invoicing, payments, and account reconciliation
- Utilize QuickBooks for accounting and payroll-related tasks
- Support general administrative and accounting needs as needed
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of recent, relevant payroll/accounting experience
- Previous payroll processing experience required
- QuickBooks experience required
- AP and AR experience preferred
- Construction industry experience is a plus, but not required
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Professional communication and presentation
- Comfortable working independently in a small office environment
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
