Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) will provide essential clinical and administrative support in an adult outpatient heart and vascular clinic. Key responsibilities include obtaining vital signs, preparing patients for exams, performing office duties such as insurance verification and appointment scheduling, and assisting with telephone triage. The role requires strong knowledge of EPIC charting and effective communication to support patient care and clinic operations. This is a temp-to-hire position with a Monday to Friday schedule and no weekend or on-call requirements.
Responsibilities:
The Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) will provide essential clinical and administrative support in an adult outpatient heart and vascular clinic. Key responsibilities include obtaining vital signs, preparing patients for exams, performing office duties such as insurance verification and appointment scheduling, and assisting with telephone triage. The role requires strong knowledge of EPIC charting and effective communication to support patient care and clinic operations. Responsibilities:
- Obtain vital signs including hearing screening, height/weight, 12 lead EKG/ECG, and pulse oximetry.
- Prepare patients for exams by recording history, medications, and allergies.
- Perform office duties such as insurance verification, appointment scheduling, and telephone triage.
- Review lab tests and assist with clinical documentation in EPIC.
- Support procedure scheduling and outpatient cardiology workflows as needed.
- Maintain professional communication with patients and clinical staff to ensure smooth clinic operations.
- Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) license in Washington State.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in an adult outpatient clinic setting.
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records system.
- Ability to accurately obtain and record vital signs and patient history.
- Experience with procedure scheduling in a clinical setting.
- Experience working in outpatient cardiology clinics.
- This position is strictly in-person at the same clinic location daily; no floating between units.
- No weekend or on-call shifts required.
- Temp-to-hire opportunity with the intention to extend a permanent offer upon successful contract completion.
- Open to both **** and non-**** candidates within Washington State.
- Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, 5 days per week.
- No weekend or holiday shifts.
- Standard daytime clinic hours with no shift rotations.
