Maintenance Technician - 1st Shift

Maintenance TechnicianResponsible for the maintenance of all production presses & equipment. Job duties include identifying equipment problems and repairing equipment to maintain production. Evaluate equipment problems and determine the most expedient short term and long term solutions. Perform routine and preventive maintenance for the purpose of ensuring the ongoing functions of required tools and equipment. Maintains tools and/or equipment for the purpose of ensuring the availability of equipment in safe operating condition. Determining work priorities collectively based on available information. Self-motivated to start and/or complete work orders, safety items & other projects as assigned. Electric safety inspection and repair of 110/220/480 volt. Welding and fabricating. All other duties assigned by Manager and Team Leader.Working conditions include a plant environment; working in and out of presses, in press pits, high lift and working on a ladder. Capable of working off the ground with height variances as well as working in confined spaces. Physical components include standing and walking up to 100% of work time; pushing, pulling, bending, reaching and some stooping.Education/experience: High school diploma and must be willing to continue education in the maintenance field; electrical, hydraulics, mechanical, electrical arc flash, schematics, blue print, etc. training and classes. Knowledgeable and capable of working with basic electric 110/220/480 volt. Basic welding and fabrication needed.Other requirements include being self-motivated, observing and enforcing all safety rules and regulations, wearing proper safety equipment; safety glasses, hearing protection, leather work shoes/boot, cotton clothing. Maintain a positive attitude and promote that attitude throughout the team. Must be available for overtime as needed to maintain production. Coordinates with administration and other trades for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently. Own and use basic tools. Must pass a pre-employment physical to include hearing & vision testing and alcohol/drug screen test.
