Accounts Payable Specialist

Sierra Executive Solutions, Inc. (SES) is a 3rd party search firm recruiting for a retail client company's corporate office Accounts Payable Specialist. Position Summary: Responsible for all aspects of accounts payable, including the accuracy of data entered into accounting systems and location reports. Provides financial information to management by researching, analyzing, and interpreting accounting data, while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with company policy. Duties & Responsibilities Enter accounts payable for multiple Nevada and other assigned store locations. Verify supporting documentation before preparing payments. Process paper checks monthly and electronic payments throughout the month. Research, resolve, and document accounts payable issues. Audit and substantiate financial transactions by reviewing documents and account information. Answer accounting procedure questions by interpreting policies and regulations. Maintain accurate records of transactions and ensure timely data entry into accounting systems. Maintain customer and vendor confidence by protecting confidential financial information. Assist with incoming phone calls, mail distribution, and filing. Contribute to team efforts by assisting with related duties as needed. Other duties as assigned by the Executive Controller Qualifications: High school diploma required, some college coursework preferred. 2+ years experience in Corporate Accounts Payable is preferred, although training will also be provided. Proficiency in accounting software; QuickBooks experience highly desirable. Experience with NetSuite a plus. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word. Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management. Experience in the retail or fuel industries is a plus. Strong skills in reporting, attention to detail, deadline management, research, confidentiality, time management, data entry, and general math. #J-18808-Ljbffr
