Highway Maintenance Specialist - Divide (CDL Training Provided w/ Permit)

This position is a Highway Maintenance Specialist located in Divide, CO. CDOT will provide training to obtain a Colorado Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or B). Applicants must currently hold a valid CDL Permit and obtain a CDL Class A or B within 6 months of hire. Base pay for this position is $2,053.85 biweekly, or $53,400 annually. The annualized hourly rate is $25.67 with an overtime rate of $38.50 per hour. What You Will Do No two days are exactly the same. Functions vary with project needs, weather, and road conditions. The specialist will be on‑call on a rotating basis and may be required to respond to weather emergencies. Your Main Job Activities Include Plowing snow Operating heavy equipment such as tandem dump trucks, loaders, and tractor mowers Mowing grass and weeds Removing debris from roadways, culverts, and tunnels Shoveling gravel, sand, concrete, and asphalt Digging ditches Installing and repairing guardrails, highway markers, signs, warning signs, and lighting Filling potholes and cracks Setting out signs and cones for traffic control Removing and covering graffiti Installing pavement markings and striping Stopping or slowing traffic in emergency situations Maintaining equipment and performing minor repairs Following safety guidance and wearing proper safety equipment What Impact You Will Have Your work is critical to maintaining safe, open roadways and positively impacts the quality of life and economy of Colorado.
