Construction Estimator - Commercial Boynton Beach, FL
Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to lead preconstruction pricing efforts across a diverse portfolio of projects. This is a high-impact role responsible for developing accurate, competitive estimates that directly influence project awards, profitability, and long-term client relationships.
We are looking for a detail-driven professional with strong market awareness, sound judgment, and the ability to turn plans into strategic, winning bids.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and addenda to prepare comprehensive estimates
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, and subcontracted scopes
- Solicit, level, and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing
- Develop competitive bid packages and formal proposals
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients during preconstruction
- Maintain and update cost databases and market pricing trends
- Identify value engineering and cost-saving opportunities
- Support post-bid negotiations and scope clarification
- Provide budgeting support for internal forecasting and pipeline planning
- Ensure all estimates align with company financial and strategic objectives
Qualifications
- 3+ years of construction estimating experience with a commercial general contractor preferred
- Strong understanding of commercial construction methods and material costs
- Proficiency in estimating software (Bluebeam, Planswift, Autodesk Build, ProEst, Sage Estimating, or similar)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and architectural documents
- Skilled in quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and bid strategy development
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
- Valid driver's license required
