Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our modern rehabilitation facility, conveniently located in Lynchburg, Virginia. You will collaborate with a dedicated support team, including Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs), in our patient care efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient evaluations upon intake, assessing impairments, functional limitations, and medical history to inform treatment plans.

• Develop individualized treatment programs that are in alignment with physicians' orders, setting measurable goals to track patient progress.

• Implement therapeutic interventions utilizing varied techniques and modalities, ensuring to document all procedures and patient interactions meticulously.

• Monitor and evaluate treatment efficacy, adjusting therapy plans as necessary to optimize patient outcomes. Regularly confer with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to discuss patient progress and make collaborative decisions.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, care plans, treatments, and discharge summaries to meet legal and regulatory requirements.

• Supervise and provide guidance to PTAs and support personnel, fostering a collaborative environment for patient care and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

• Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities, including staff training sessions and clinical workshops, contributing to a culture of learning and improvement.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary patient population includes individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic illnesses. You will work with a diverse range of patients, from young adults to senior citizens, each presenting unique rehabilitation needs. Your role will be essential in helping these individuals regain mobility, independence, and overall quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution is required.

• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in Virginia.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for effective interaction with patients and team members.

• Proficiency in word processing and familiarity with electronic medical records systems will be beneficial.

Preferred Experience

While two years of prior experience as a Physical Therapist is required, candidates with more extensive experience in an acute care or rehabilitation setting will be favored. Experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams and managing varied patient caseloads is beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to USD 100,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
