Description

The Senior Associate Broker is responsible for supporting the placement and broking activities for North American Environmental and Casualty accounts, including both new and renewal business. The role applies environmental insurance expertise, market knowledge, and analytical skills to help deliver effective risk transfer solutions while supporting producers, brokers, underwriters, and clients.

Working within the AAIS team, the Senior Associate Broker independently manages assigned activities, develops strong relationships with carriers and internal stakeholders, contributes to placement strategy discussions, and provides guidance to junior colleagues. The role utilizes technology and AI-enabled tools responsibly to enhance efficiency, improve analysis, and support business outcomes while adhering to WTW responsible AI and data governance standards.

The Role

• Supports the placement and servicing of new and renewal casualty and environmental insurance programs.
• Develops a working knowledge of environmental insurance products and their application to client risk exposures.
• Independently manages assigned brokerage activities for a portfolio of environmental and casualty risks.
• Collaborates with brokers, producers, underwriters, and service teams to obtain quotations and placement terms.
• Serves as a primary day-to-day contact for carrier and internal stakeholder communications related to assigned accounts.
• Collects, reviews, and organizes underwriting information from clients and producing offices.
• Assists in preparing submissions, proposals, marketing materials, and request-for-proposal (RFP) responses.
• Performs coverage, pricing, and market comparisons to support placement recommendations.
• Supports the preparation of analytics, benchmarking, and modeling materials for clients and internal teams.
• Reviews quotations, binders, and coverage documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Assists with environmental due diligence reviews and placement activities for private equity and transactional opportunities.
• Builds and maintains relationships with client advocates, producers, carrier partners, and underwriting contacts.
• Demonstrates awareness of market developments, carrier appetite, and emerging industry trends.
• Provides informal coaching and guidance to developing brokers and new team members.
• Participates in process improvement initiatives and contributes to operational excellence across the AAIS team.
• Maintains compliance with licensing, regulatory, and continuing education requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The Requirements

• Valid Property & Casualty License as required by state law, or ability to obtain appropriate licensing within 90 days of hire. Surplus Lines License required within 180 days of hire.
• Commercial Property & Casualty insurance knowledge with demonstrated experience supporting client and placement activities.
• Typically 4-6 years of insurance industry experience in broking, underwriting, claims, or a related insurance discipline.
• Exposure to environmental insurance products, including: 
  • Contractors Pollution Liability (CPL)
  • Site Pollution Liability (PLL)
  • Combined General Liability/Site Pollution programs
  • Environmental Professional Liability products
• Understanding of environmental risk exposures and insurance solutions.
• Ability to analyze coverage, compare market options, and support placement recommendations.
• Effective negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across global and regional teams.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking capabilities.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and changing deadlines.
• Technology proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications, brokerage platforms, carrier systems, and workflow tools.
• AI Literacy and Responsible Technology Utilization: Demonstrated ability to leverage AI-enabled tools responsibly to support research, analysis, content development, and workflow efficiency while maintaining professional judgment, validating outputs, protecting confidential information, and complying with WTW AI governance standards.
• Ability to coach and support the development of less experienced colleagues through knowledge sharing and informal mentoring.
• Insurance designations such as CPCU, ARM, CIC, RPLU, or progress toward professional certifications are advantageous.

Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation (Producer roles only).

Compensation 

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $100,000.00-$150,000.00 USD annually.

This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
