Tax Accountant job at Foley Kalseim & Company, Ltd. Lake Elmo, MN. A Senior Tax Accountant with FKCO will enjoy a varied and challenging workload. They will perform a wide variety of diversified accounting, tax and/or audit assignments. They will report directly and work closely with the firm’s partners. In addition, they will have the following responsibilities: This is a full-time, permanent position Responsible for 30+ clients Prepare and/or Review individual and business returns including appointments with clients Assist with recurring tax planning for clients Assist with audits Record transactions in ledgers; review trial balances and simple financial statements using computer software Perform scheduled computations of accruals, property and equipment, and calculate depreciation expense Assist in proofing financial statements, tax returns and other documents Assist with responses to various taxing agencies Perform QuickBooks Consulting and maintain proficiency with software Perform other accounting and tax duties as needed in engagements and as assigned by Partners Maintain strict confidentiality Participation in community and volunteer organizations is supported and encouraged Network with local business owners and managers to promote FKCO as needed Travel to client sites, meetings and seminars from time to time Provide training and mentorship to Staff Accountants as necessary SKILLS & EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING TO US Required Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 5 or more years of experience in public accounting, specifically in the area of tax and audit Experience being the lead contact for multiple clients including leading client meetings Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, prioritize and work under pressure of deadlines Strong communication skills, professionalism and a desire to learn Ability to work independently and be a flexible, team player Proficient in Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn many new software applications Preferred CPA license or working towards CPA license Ability to work overtime mid-January through mid-April and around deadlines if necessary Experience with Quickbooks Online WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU In addition to a competitive benefits package that includes group health, dental and vision insurance, life and disability insurance, and a generous amount of PTO.
