Schedule: 12-hour day shifts (06:45-19:15), 36-48 hours per week. Weekend requirement includes a minimum of 4 weekend days per 6-week schedule, potentially every other weekend. Contract commitment of 13 weeks or longer required.

Highlights:

• High-volume regional referral and tertiary care center serving all age populations with 250+ visits per day and 101 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-5 providing comprehensive emergency care for diverse patient needs
• EPIC charting system with Pyxis medication management and structured SBAR communication
• Float between Emergency Observation Unit and Emergency Behavioral Health based on facility needs
• 24-hour orientation with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and more
• Must commit to contract through February 27, 2027 with strict attendance expectations

Requirements:

• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Previous charge experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, PALS, and MOAB
• TNCC certification preferred
• Proficiency in IV starts, triage, telemetry, and EPIC charting required
• Must successfully pass EKG competency testing prior to start date
• Experience with stroke-certified and STEMI-certified facility protocols strongly preferred
• Skills in acute psychosis management, ventilated patient care, dysrhythmia interpretation, procedural sedation, and managing violent/suicidal patients
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• First-time travelers accepted; local candidates welcome
