Staff Accountant

Position Summary


We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our growing team. This individual will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day accounting functions of the organization, including month-end close, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and general ledger maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and a desire to contribute to a collaborative team environment.


Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts
• Prepare and analyze financial reports to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation records
• Assist with internal and external audit requests
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies
• Participate in special projects and ad hoc financial analysis

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1-4 years of accounting experience preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
