Work Environment

This position offers a fully remote work environment, allowing you the flexibility to deliver care from the comfort of your own home or any location of your choice. Our telehealth platform enables you to connect with clients effectively through virtual consultations, ensuring accessibility and convenience for both counselors and clients alike. You will have a regular workweek, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, providing you with a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly clients to identify their specific emotional and psychological needs.
• Provide individual and group counseling sessions, supporting residents in coping with aging-related challenges and life transitions.
• Collaborate actively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans that promote holistic well-being.
• Educate family members and staff on effective strategies for enhancing the emotional well-being and quality of life for elderly individuals.
• Facilitate grief and loss counseling sessions for clients and their families as they navigate end-of-life issues.
• Design and implement cognitive stimulation programs aimed at promoting mental acuity and engagement in elderly clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on senior clients grappling with various mental health challenges, including grief, anxiety, depression, and adjustment disorders related to aging. You'll be working with individuals who may be facing significant life transitions, such as retirement, loss of loved ones, or navigating the complexities of chronic health conditions. The culturally responsive approach is essential; understanding the unique backgrounds and experiences of each client will enable you to provide tailored support and therapy.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential in the state of Washington.
• A minimum of four years of recent experience in geriatric counseling and supporting mental health needs.
• Specialized training or certification in geriatric mental health and aging-related issues.
• A comprehensive understanding of evidence-based therapeutic interventions that enhance mental well-being in elderly clients.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in delivering culturally competent counseling services to diverse elderly populations, particularly those facing various mental health challenges.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a proven capacity to build trust and rapport with older adults.
• Adept in conducting comprehensive assessments and developing personalized treatment plans that address individual client needs.
• Familiarity with ethical and legal standards in geriatric mental health counseling.

Compensation and Benefits
