Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Associate

Our client, a well-established real estate firm based in West Palm Beach, FL, is seeking an Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Associate to join their accounting team. This individual will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable functions across the firm's real estate portfolio.
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and prior experience with AP/AR, preferably within real estate, property management, or a related industry.
Responsibilities
- Process and manage accounts payable invoices, ensuring accurate coding, approvals, and timely payments.
- Handle accounts receivable activities, including recording payments, preparing invoices, and monitoring outstanding balances.
- Reconcile vendor statements, tenant accounts, and bank or other financial accounts.
- Research and resolve discrepancies related to invoices, payments, and account balances.
- Prepare and process checks, ACH payments, and other disbursements.
- Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with monthly and year-end close activities.
- Review tenant charges, receipts, and other property-related transactions for accuracy.
- Assist with collections and follow up on outstanding receivables as needed.
- Communicate with vendors, tenants, property managers, and internal teams regarding billing and payment questions.
- Support the accounting team with reporting, reconciliations, and other accounting-related projects.
- Ensure all transactions are processed accurately and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or general accounting.
- Real estate, property management, or commercial real estate experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and reconciliation processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including sorting, filtering, and basic formulas.
- Experience with accounting or property management software is a plus.
