Construction Bookkeeper

Location: Sacramento, CA 95815 Job Type: Full-Time, In-Office Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Salary: $60,000–$75,000 per year, depending on experience About the Position We are seeking an experienced Construction Bookkeeper to join our team in Sacramento. This is a full-time, in-office position for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and experienced with the accounting needs of a construction company. The ideal candidate will have at least 3–4 years of hands‑on QuickBooks experience along with construction accounting/bookkeeping experience. We are looking for someone who understands the unique financial processes involved in the construction industry and can confidently manage day‑to‑day bookkeeping responsibilities with accuracy. Responsibilities Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting transactions Maintain accurate records in QuickBooks Process accounts payable and accounts receivable Enter and reconcile bank and credit card transactions Prepare and send customer invoices Track incoming payments and outstanding balances Maintain vendor accounts and process vendor invoices Assist with payroll-related accounting and recordkeeping Perform bank and account reconciliations Track expenses by project/job Maintain accurate job costing records Track labor, materials, subcontractor costs, and other project-related expenses Assist with construction project billing and financial reporting Maintain organized documentation for vendors, subcontractors, customers, and projects Prepare reports for management as requested Assist with month-end accounting and financial reconciliation Work closely with management to ensure financial records are accurate and up to date Required Qualifications 3–4+ years of QuickBooks experience 3–4+ years of construction accounting and/or construction bookkeeping experience Strong understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable Experience with job costing and project-based accounting Experience reconciling bank and credit card accounts Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organizational and time‑management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesComfortable working independently and taking ownership of bookkeeping responsibilities Strong communication skills Proficient with Microsoft Excel and general office software Construction accounting/bookkeeping experience is required for this position. Schedule Monday through Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM This is an in-office position located in Sacramento, CA 95815. Remote work is not available for this role.
