Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in special education classrooms near Aurora, CO. If you thrive in adaptive settings and enjoy making a lasting impact on young lives, this school-based paraprofessional role offers flexibility, meaningful student interaction, and valuable experience across elementary, middle, and high school levels.
To be considered, candidates must provide two completed professional RefAssured references at submission. Applications without references cannot be considered.
Desired Experience & Requirements:
- At least 1 full year of experience working in SPED classrooms
- Significant/severe caseload experience strongly preferred
- Comfortable supporting students with significant needs, including 1:1 assignments
- Ability to assist with toileting and diapering as needed
- Willingness to be reassigned between school sites and work with different age groups as required
- Reliable personal transportation (must not rely on public transit or ride-share services)
- Able to consistently report for duty by 7:40 am (elementary) or 8:00 am (middle/high)
- Immediate completion of district-required fingerprinting upon job offer (any criminal charges disqualify applicants)
- Must include current location in your application
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide attentive classroom support to teachers and students with special needs
- Adapt quickly to changing schedules, locations, and student assignments
- Foster a nurturing, respectful learning environment
- Maintain communication with team members and adhere to all school policies and guidelines
- Serve as a positive role model throughout daily interactions
Assignment dates are August 11 through May 21, 2027, with weekly hours ranging from 34 to 37.5 per week (depending on school assignment). Exact caseload details will be shared upon placement.
