Empower young learners in a compassionate educational environment as a Special Education Teacher supporting a 1st/2nd grade RISE self-contained classroom. Located near Chicago, IL, this contract position offers the opportunity to truly make a difference in the lives of students requiring specialized instruction and support.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teaching certification
• Experience with elementary-aged students, preferably in a self-contained classroom
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to engage with parents and multidisciplinary teams
• Deep understanding of IEP processes and implementation
• Patient, flexible, and creative approach to individualized instruction

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute individualized lesson plans tailored to student abilities
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere promoting academic and social-emotional growth
• Track progress towards IEP goals, maintain thorough records, and provide ongoing updates to stakeholders
• Collaborate with paraeducators, therapists, and specialists to support each learner’s needs
• Communicate regularly with families, offering insight and support throughout the school year
• Adapt teaching strategies to address a variety of learning styles and behavioral needs

This full-time role requires 37.5 hours per week during standard school hours, offering you consistency along with impactful, rewarding experiences.
