Empower young learners and make a lasting difference as a Special Education Teacher in a 1st/2nd grade RISE self-contained classroom. This contract position, located near Cicero, IL, needs a motivated and compassionate educator ready to support students with diverse needs. You’ll work full-time, 37.5 hours per week in a collaborative, supportive environment committed to student growth and achievement.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teaching certification
• Proven experience working within special education programs
• Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and their implementation
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to foster a nurturing and structured classroom environment
• Experience with early elementary students is highly valued

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead instruction for a RISE self-contained classroom of 1st and 2nd grade students
• Design and adapt curriculum to accommodate individual learning styles and abilities
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in partnership with families and colleagues
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom culture that encourages student engagement
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and support staff
