Muscleworks Rehab & Physical Therapy Center is actively seeking a skilled and compassionate full-time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to become an integral member of our dedicated team. In this essential role, you will work closely under the supervision of licensed physical therapists to implement tailored treatment plans that promote rehabilitation, alleviate pain, and enhance mobility for diverse patient populations.

Work Environment

This full-time PTA role is conducted onsite at our state-of-the-art hospital facility, providing a dynamic setting where you will engage directly with patients and collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Our work hours are Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a routine schedule that supports work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Implementing treatment programs prescribed by physical therapists, ensuring adherence to best practices and patient safety standards.
• Providing direct hands-on therapeutic services, including physiotherapy exercises, manual therapy, and modality application, adjusted based on individual patient needs.
• Educating patients about their rehabilitation process and instructing them on specific exercises to perform independently to enhance their recovery.
• Monitoring and documenting patient progress meticulously during therapy sessions, utilizing our electronic health record systems to maintain accuracy.
• Collaborating with the healthcare team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, and medical staff, to deliver a holistic approach to patient care.
• Adopting specialized techniques such as trigger point therapy as indicated while keeping patient comfort and outcomes as the primary focus.
• Engaging in occupational health initiatives within the clinic to enhance overall patient wellness.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The PTA will provide care to a diverse patient population, ranging from children to older adults. Our patients present with various orthopedic conditions, post-surgical rehabilitations, chronic pain issues, and sports injuries. This role is pivotal in supporting patients' recovery journeys, ensuring improved mobility and quality of life through tailored therapy interventions.

Qualifications

• Valid Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Physical Therapy Assistant or equivalent.
• Active and current PTA state license.
• A minimum of two years of hands-on experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Solid understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Demonstrated proficiency in manual therapy techniques.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide empathetic patient care.

Preferred Experience

While the required experience is two years, candidates with experience in a hospital or outpatient setting specializing in orthopedic rehabilitation will be prioritized. Familiarity with electronic health records and interdisciplinary team collaboration will also be advantageous in this role.

Compensation and Benefits
